This is a project that has been supported by a South of Scotland Visual Artist and Craft Makers Award, funded by Creative Scotland, Live Borders and Dumfries & Galloway Council.
I have used patterns from the V&A publications “17th Century Dress patterns: Book 2” and “17th Century Men’s Dress Patterns 1600-1630” to hand sew three historical garments to be subjects for drawing and painting from life.
I have produced three short time lapse videos of the construction and I am currently developing my painting practice working with the three garments as inspiration. More work to follow…….
